A public-private partnership between the City of Auburn and Auburn Business Development Corporation (ABDC), parcels range in size between 3.6 to 31.9 acres and are available at a price of $65,000.00 per usable acre.

ABDC, the property owner, and the City will consider additional financing options and state or local incentives for projects of significance.


BUILD-READY SITES

All lot sites have been pre-approved for commercial and industrial use, site-specific wetland alterations and wetland mitigation. Industrial Park Covenants have been set into place and the park is located in the Foreign Trade Zone #263 AND the Pine Tree Development Zone.
 

INCENTIVES

Foreign-Trade Zone –Created by the Federal Government in the 1930s, a Foreign-Trade Zone facilitates trade and increases the global competitiveness of U.S.-based companies.760-acre parcel of land in Auburn, Maine is designated a General Purpose Foreign-Trade Zone, allowing qualifying companies to save money conducting international trade by either eliminating or deferring the payment of tariffs.

Pine Tree Development Zone (PTDZ) – this program offers eligible businesses the chance to greatly reduce or virtually eliminate state taxes for up to ten years when they create new, quality jobs in certain business sectors or move existing jobs in those sectors to Maine.

Governor’s Jobs Initiative Program – a program established to encourage high-quality job creation and expansion by directly linking the education and training resources of this State to job opportunities. To the extent of available resources, the program develops and coordinates training for firms intending to expand or locate in this State, reorganize a workplace to remain competitive or upgrade worker skills by providing essential work competencies such as computer literacy, problem-solving strategies, critical thinking skills, math and science proficiency and team-building skills.

Maine Technology Institute (MTI) – is a non-profit organization providing funding for private companies and research laboratories to support and promote research and development, and assist innovative Maine companies and inventors in getting their products to market.

Employment Tax Increment Financing (ETIF) - is a state program that helps new and established Maine businesses to hire new employees by refunding from 30-80% of the state withholding taxes paid by the business for up to ten years. The reimbursement rate rises with the level of local unemployment, with those in Pine Tree Development Zones receiving the highest rate.
