July 13-14, 2011 - Mark Malone, CCIM attended the International Council of Shopping Centers’ 2011 New England Idea Exchange in Boston.

Day One presentations included: Government Relations Update and Outlook for Retail Real Estate. The keynote speaker was Roger Berkowitz, President & CEO of Legal Sea Foods. The “Retailers Runway” session provided attendees with the opportunity to hear directly from both new and expanding retailers in New England.

In the general session, Brad Hutensky of The Hutensky Group moderated a 6-member, multi-generational panel of leading retail real estate families discussing the challenges and rewards of having your name on the door. “Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategies” completed the general session and was co-presented by A.J. Gerritson, Founding Partner of 451 Marketing LLC (social media marketing perspective), Mike Proulx, Sr. Vice President of Hill Holliday (retailer perspective) and David Fleming, Corporate Marketing Director of WS Development (developer/owner perspective).

Day Two of the conference focused on networking, sales, leasing and deal-making groups. ICSC was founded in 1957 and is the global trade association of the shopping center industry. It has 60,000 members through the U.S., Canada and more than 80 other countries. Membership includes shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers and other professionals as well as academics and public officials.

July 19, 2010 – Mark Malone and Dan Catlin attended the International Council of Shopping Centers’ 2010 ICSC New England Idea Exchange held in Boston.  The conference was held at a new location, the Hynes Convention Center.  The keynote presentation was given by Steve Pagliuca, Managing Director of Bain Capital and Managing Partner of the Boston Celtics.  The "Retailers Runway" session gave attendees the opportunity to hear straight from the retailers who are new and expanding in the New England region.  "Adapt and Change--Market Overview and Update" was the focus of the conference's general session.  This Q&A session offered attendees a historical overview of market conditions as a framework for discussing how to adapt to current market changes and challenges with a panel of experts in investment sales, leasing, development, financial markets and marketing technology.  Mark and Dan participated in meetings with smaller networking and deal making groups at the conference as well.

July 10, 2009 –Joe Malone, Mark Malone and Dan Catlin attended the International Council of Shopping Centers 2009 ICSC New England Idea Exchange held in Boston. The conference provides a good opportunity to conduct business with retailers, brokers, developers, owners, lenders, suppliers, municipalities and economic development agencies from across the region. The keynote presentation given by Jonathan Kraft, President/COO of the Kraft Group, addressed several topics of interest in the retail sector. The Idea Exchange had an expanded session of the “Retailers’ Runway” for New England that included retailers such as Aldi, DollarTree, Price Chopper Supermarket, Panda Restaurant Group, Boloco, Aveda, and Great Clips to name a few. Joe, Mark, and Dan attended panel sessions led by ICSC committee members that focused on retail strategies/opportunities over the next five years and also participated in networking and deal making groups.

This conference featured sessions with national retailers and developers discussing strategies and trends in the current challenging economic landscape. The conference provides a venue to network and conduct business with retailers, brokers, developers, owners, lenders, suppliers, municipalities and economic development agencies from across the region.

January 24, 2008 – MALONE COMMERCIAL BROKERS presented its retail report as part of the Sector Analysis Program of the Maine Real Estate & Development Association’s (MEREDA) Annual Real Estate Conference held at the Holiday Inn By the Bay in Portland, Maine. Dale Holman, Associate Broker, presented the report to conference attendees and MEREDA members.
